My inspiration was a red-winged birds’ nest and the idea of a comforting place to be in while one is overwhelmed. I decided to tuft a rug to use as my fabric because when I am overwhelmed, I end up on the floor and usually a carpeted one. Taking in the texture and the fibers of a rug help me calm down so I made seating that would embody that feeling.
